Who We Are
Leadership
Kintsugi Sangha is pleased to trace its leadership directly back to the origins of the Hollow Bones lineage of Rinzai Zen by way of our leader, Erich Moraine.
Erich Moraine took jukai vows in 2010 from Jun Po Roshi, Head Abbott of the Hollow Bones lineage of Rinzai Zen. He was ordained by Meru Danda Roshi in 2012 and acknowledged by his dharma name as Roshi Shokan Muishitzu in 2018. This name translates as “true man of no rank with clear insight.”
Erich is an ordained community minister affiliated with Lake Country Unitarian Universalist Church in Hartland, Wisconsin, where he supports the Senior Minister in providing Sunday morning services and pastoral care and in leading the Kintsugi Sangha, which he started in 2014. He is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Buddhist Fellowship and of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Community Ministers.
He works as an independent research glassblower and lives with his wife and their dog, Finn, in a rural farmhouse in southeastern Wisconsin.
Jeanne Pepitone took jukai vows from Roshi Shokan Muishitzu in 2019, where she received her dharma name as Prajna Tara, meaning “wisdom of Tara.”
She takes refuge in the awakened nature of all beings, in the ocean of wisdom and compassion, and in the interdependence of it all in the company of her husband, her children, and her animals.
